VOLUNTEER WAITLIST
**IMPORTANT - REVIEW THE HACEF CAMP STUDENT VOLUNTEER COUNSELOR CODE OF CONDUCT BEFORE PROCEEDING

HACEF Volunteer Code of Conduct

  1. Respect Others
    Treat fellow volunteers, students, teachers, and parents with kindness and respect.

  2. Identification
    Wear your HACEF volunteer ID while volunteering on school premises.

  3. Contacting Students
    Do not contact students outside of school hours without permission from the student’s parents.

  4. Confidentiality
    Maintain confidentiality regarding situations you observe, ensuring the privacy of students and their families.

  5. Report Concerns
    Immediately report any concerns about student behavior, welfare, or safety to coordinators or teachers.

  6. Avoid Being Alone with Children
    Avoid situations where you are left alone or unobserved with a child.

  7. Maintain Boundaries
    Maintain appropriate boundaries at all times and avoid any unwarranted or inappropriate physical contact with students.

  8. Personal Assistance
    Do not assist children with personal tasks (e.g., changing clothes, using the bathroom). Wait outside the bathroom when escorting a child, and inform the teacher if additional help is needed.

  9. No Personal Communication
    Do not exchange personal contact information (phone numbers, emails, or social media) with students.

  10. Focus on the Students
    Refrain from using your phone or devices while volunteering. Give your full attention to the students.

  11. Appropriate Content
    Do not show students inappropriate videos, memes, or content.

  12. Encourage and Praise
    Encourage students to do their best and praise them for their efforts.

  13. Be a Role Model
    Set a positive example for students by using appropriate language and behavior.

  14. Notify of Absences
    If you are unable to volunteer, notify the relevant individuals as soon as possible.


Volunteer Policy Disclaimer

  • Modification of Policies: HACEF reserves the right to change its Volunteer Policies at any time.

  • Failure to Follow Conduct: Volunteers who do not adhere to the Code of Conduct or fail to perform duties satisfactorily may be dismissed at any time, with or without cause.

  • If an application is closed for a specific camp add yourself to the volunteer waitlist below.

  • We will contact you in the order received if a position becomes available.

HACEF Volunteer Counselor Positions

AGE REQUIREMENT

  • Open to students entering grades 8-12 in the Fall.

  • Volunteer must be entering at least 2 Grades  above the oldest Grade of the camp (for example, the Camp is for Grades 6-8, the Volunteer must be entering at least 10th Grade)
  • Please review the volunteer age range before applying.

  • If the volunteer's age is outside the required range, you will be asked to apply for a different camp.

  • Enter the grade the volunteer will be in for September 2026.
