No Refunds: Unless a camp is canceled, HACEF regrets that we are unable to offer any camp refunds.

Registration Day: Although we have invested in a strong server, there may be a high volume of traffic on our site on opening registration day. Please be patient.

Camper Grade: When selecting a camp please choose one with the grade your child will be entering in the Fall of 2024.

Location: All HACEF camps are located at HHS EXCEPT Getting Ready for Kindergarten which is at WDPS! 

Times & Days:

– All HHS Camps are from 9 am – 12 pm
– WDPS Kindergarten Camps are from 9:15 am – 12:15 pm
– All camps are Monday – Thursday EXCEPT for Week 1 (see below)
– We have 2 FULL DAY Camps this year! See Below for details.

Volunteers: You may click here to complete a Volunteer Application and earn community service hours! If we have no openings, please add yourself to our volunteer waitlist! Positions almost always open up.

Campers will have an opportunity to build from many different popular LEGO Themes, including City, Friends, Star Wars, Ninjago, Harry Potter, Minecraft, and more! Express your emotions through writing poetry and creating artwork!

Campers will be guided with sources and directions for writing poetry such as limericks, haikus, palindrome, cinquain, diamante, acrostic, alliteration, and games!

Campers will create an art project that reflects their feelings for each poem that they write.

Projects will include Paper Mache Poetry, Blackout Poetry, and Calligram Poetry!

Getting Ready for Kindergarten – Week 2 – SOLD OUT

Your child will experience a shorter version of Kindergarten. We will have math, language, reading, science, and art activities! We will tour the school and visit all of the special classrooms and the playground. The children will get to make friends with other Harborfields children entering Kindergarten in the Fall.

Note: The Getting Ready for K camps in Weeks 2, 3, & 4 are identical (same projects, etc). This is a very popular camp and there are no refunds, so please keep that in mind if considering registering for more than one week. We look forward to seeing you this summer!

World Travelers – SOLD OUT

Little Sprouts Gardening Camp – Week 2

Budding gardeners will take a hands-on learning approach to planting and growing their own vegetable garden. Children will be encouraged to try out their green thumb during this interactive STEM gardening camp. Your “Little Sprout” will also learn about the basic needs and life cycle of plants, explore the world around them during a nature scavenger hunt, create chlorophyll paintings, and have a plantastic week!

Exploring 2D/3D Art

Both fun and inspiring, art opens up a world of exciting possibilities! Children will explore a variety of visual arts mediums such as painting, drawing, sculpture or ceramics, mixed media, and more. Age-appropriate projects are geared to expand students’ artistic horizons by improving knowledge and skills. The session culminates with an art exhibition featuring artworks created during camp for family and friends to enjoy.

Easy As Pie – SOLD OUT

Get out your rolling pins because we’re going to start baking! Each day, we will focus on a different type of pie… making pie crust for mini apple pies, graham cracker crust filled with cream pies (Type TBD), adorable cupcakes decorated like little mini lattice-topped fruit pies, and even a day devoted to pizza pie. If time permits, we may even make baking crafts or play pie-related games, such as Pizza Party and Pie Face.

Spanish Immersion Camp

Pioneer Days

Take a trip back in time with Mrs. Krause. Learn what life was like in the 1800s for families traveling to new lands. Pokemon – Week 3

Famous Landmarks Around the World

Instructor: Maureen Ruggeberg

Discover some of the world’s most iconic landmarks! Campers will learn about the rich heritage of The Chrysler Building in New York City, the Taj Mahal in India, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and St. Basil Cathedral in Russia. Campers will initially connect to these landmarks through first-hand experiences of the instructor, historical information, and architectural videos. Campers can then begin to connect the historical past to the modern day importance of these famous landmarks, helping them understand why they are top destination sites for tourists today.

Each camper will “build” a similar landmark using a variety of materials and creativity to capture the essence of the landmark in their own unique way. This is a hands-on camp involving cutting, painting, gluing, coloring, etc.

Further explorations of these landmarks will be encouraged through cooperative games, such as, “How High is Too High?” skyscraper game, “Capture the Flag – US vs. France,” “Russian Nesting” games, and “Trek Across India” games.

So join us as we uncover the stories that these historical places hold in this world exploration camp, history camp, art appreciation camp, and a creativity camp! It will be 4 days of fun, fun, fun!

The week will end with an art exhibit for family and friends to enjoy.

Jedi Training Camp

Let’s enjoy our staycation by “traveling” to some of the world’s most iconic landmarks –  the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament in England, Angkor Wat in Cambodia, and Notre Dame Cathedral in France. These widely recognizable architectural marvels are symbols of beauty, resilience, and the triumph of human craftsmanship. Campers will get to know these landmarks through their rich history, their global significance, and their distinctive beauty.

During this “world exploration camp,” each camper will “build” a similar landmark using a variety of materials and creativity to capture the essence of the landmark in their own unique way. This is a hands-on camp involving cutting, painting, gluing, coloring, etc.

Further explorations of these famous landmarks will be encouraged through fun cooperative games, such as, “Pisa Pizza” stacking games, “American English vs. British English” games,  “Pics Mix” jumble games, “Flight Master” target games, “Notre Dame Escape Room” and “Famous Landmark Bingo” games.

Intro to Fashion Design

Students will be introduced to the history of fashion, which will be where they will find their inspiration, which will influence their own contemporary fashion designs. Join us for a week of laughter, exploration, and growth as we embark on a journey of mindfulness, yoga, and journaling to foster both physical and emotional growth. Dance Camp

Making Summer Memories

Instructor: Sydney Aliperti
Grades: 3-5

Turn off the electronics and return to old fashion summer fun! This camp is a return to beloved and traditional games and activities to delight a child’s imagination. Campers will participate in sand art and tie-dying, decorate bottles to catch fireflies and whip up bubble paint to make wild designs. We will create a sign for a lemonade stand and then hold a lemonade stand together as a group to raise money for charity. Kids will learn strategy and communication skills while playing favorite board games such as Scrabble, Battleship, and Monopoly. Hands on Clay Junior – Week 6 – SOLD OUT

Have your younger kids unplug and play with mud! Younger campers will enjoy four fun-filled days exploring the numerous possibilities clay has to offer using hand-building methods such as pinching, coiling, and slab work. These mini potters will also learn how a kiln is loaded and fired, as well as experiment with various glaze applications. Campers will use their imagination and new skills to form both decorative and functional ceramic pieces that your family will treasure forever. The week will end with an art exhibit for family and friends to enjoy. Note: The projects will be different in Weeks 4 and 6, so this camp is repeatable!

Learn to bead and watch your creativity soar! In this exciting class, campers will design and make beaded creations such as key chains, bookmarks, bracelets, and necklaces! They will also learn a variety of beading techniques, including stringing, knotting, wire wrapping, and much more! These mini-beaders will also learn the basics of polymer clay to create beautiful beads of their own to add to their creations!

Fashion Design II

The emphasis in Fashion II will be on creating an evening gown for the “Oscar Awards” with accessories and a cocktail dress for the “MTV Awards” and accessories. We will review applying clothing to the fashion figure, and color pencil skills.
