HACEF Summer Camp Health Guidelines
June 23, 2021
We hope you are enjoying the end of the school year festivities. We are very excited that HACEF Summer Camps begin this Monday, June 28 and look forward to a happy and rewarding summer!
We wanted to apprise you on the latest health guidelines so as to ensure a both fun and safe camp experience for all children and staff this year.
As many of you know, a few days ago, Governor Cuomo lifted the state mandates for Covid health precautions for all social settings, including summer camps. As a result, the wearing of masks indoors will be considered “MASK OPTIONAL” for HACEF Camps this summer. If you are more comfortable with your child wearing a mask, we understand and will work with your camp instructor to ensure your child’s mask stays on during camp.
However—in an abundance of caution, we WILL be employing temperatures checks as each camper enters the building each morning. HACEF’s nurse, Lisa Hering, an RN at Harborfields High School, will be on hand to administer these checks and will, of course, be in close proximity to all camps throughout the summer. Washing of hands will also be strongly encouraged. We ask that you please not send your child to camp if he or she is not feeling well, same as you would if it was school.
It is important to note that these guidelines may again change or evolve as we receive further guidance from the state or CDC. We will continue to keep you informed. Please let us know if you have any questions. We are looking forward to a wonderful summer
