Catherine Andreadis
As an animal welfare advocate, it is only fitting that much of Catherine’s service hours have revolved around improving the lives of animals that have been mistreated or were in need of care. Catherine began working with the Little Shelter Animal Rescue at the age of 12. She was a member of the HF Pet Awareness Club at Harborfields since its inception, organizing bake sales, supply drives and a walk-a-thon. Although animal welfare is a major part of her life, Catherine’s service efforts extended to helping people in the community as well. Whether it was volunteering with Horseability, a therapeutic riding center for individuals with special needs, serving as the president of Key club, or making comfort bags for sick children at Stony Brook Hospital, Catherine was able to see the immediate impact of her efforts. Catherine, we wish you the best of luck as you purse an education in veterinary medicine.

Gianna Massi
Like many young people, Gianna began to understand the importance of service at an early age through her involvement in her church. It was her cello playing that opened the doors to many other opportunities- playing at Carillon Nursing Home, the Harborfields Public Library, OMS Spaghetti Dinners and many award ceremonies. Additionally, Gianna was involved with many philanthropic clubs such as Global Justice, students Against destructive decisions, Habitat for Humanity and “Ghandi Did It.” The activity that has made her the most proud was her volunteer hours as a floor aide at Huntington Hospital. She realized the smallest of gestures can make a big difference in a person’s day. As a result of her fulfilling community service involvement, Gianna intends to pursue a career as a Physician Assistant while minoring in Music. Good Luck Gianna!
Zachary Yorio
Zachary has been involved with his community throughout his high school years. Having served on the Town of Huntington Youth Council since freshman year in high school, Zachary has garnered invaluable experience about the inner workings of government, how to delegate, listen and motive other young people. Zachary was one of many Harborfields students who planned, organized, and gathered support for the HF commUNITY Summit , a school wide forum that allowed students to express their thoughts on a variety of issues highlighted due to the Parkland Florida tragedy. Zachary is most proud of his work as a Youth Ambassador for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). While he feels that the money he has helped raise has made a difference, it is his larger role as a mentor to newly diagnosed patients that has the most meaningful impact. Zachary has roles in many organizations including State Jude at American Legion Boys State Program, Centerport Fire Department Cadet and as a volunteer coach for young athletes. We know Zachary’s passion and commitment to his community will serve him well in the years ahead.
